HART Social Studio Showcase “#Ew! Normal?” presents an exciting opportunity to visit the space where 17 artists of diverse backgrounds explore synergetic art practices and create a community of their own. This particular showcase brings up the question of what it means to be ‘social’ in the ‘socially distanced era’.
Visitors will not only have the opportunity to view displayed artwork from each of the artists, but also have the chance to be welcomed into the private workstations of the participating artists. The showcase also consists of the dialogues and dynamics arising in the art ecosystem.

Not-for-profit arts organisation HART is delighted to announce the first exhibition resulting from its arts programming - Household Gods. The group exhibition, curated by Ying Kwok, presents the work of four Hong Kong based artists; Nadim Abbas, Shane Aspegren, Tap Chan, and Wu Jiaru, who are each grant-based artists participating in the ongoing sixth session of the HART Social Studio Programme.
Showcasing specially commissioned works that encompass painting, sculpture, site specific installation and sound work, the exhibition originates from a desire to offer new insights into our complicated and currently uncertain world, addressing questions about the relationships between mankind in its most intimate setting, the household, and natural and supernatural phenomenon. Created and presented during a time of change, Household Gods rethinks how art and creativity empower each of us, both in content and form, and will be presented dually through virtual and digital mediums as well in person interaction with the exhibition.

As a special offering during this time of social distancing and elevated anxiety, HART is partnering with Hausian Shane Aspegren for weekly online sound meditations. These sound-based group meditations aim to create inner-clarity while establishing an online group connection that will lead us all forward towards our live sound bath sessions at HART Haus—slated to begin once we are back to gathering in the flesh. Each hour-long session begins with a brief introduction, followed by a 45-minute soundscape meditation created using traditional instruments such as gongs and Tibetan singing bowls, as well as experimental instruments and very specific stereo frequencies. The session will end with 10-15 minutes of group discussion/Q&A.
Sessions (all on Tuesdays):

The first HART Hub in 2020 was a social mixer with HKU MBA, Perfume Trees Gin and our Hausians. It was an inspiring Monday night of insights on arts and business, and the flowery scent of the gin!We believe the event has been an opportunities for the participants of different industries, especially arts and business, to learn more about each others' practice and hence reinforce their own.
The programme was an exclusive event.
In this "Zest It up with Scents!" workshop, participants can learn more about traditional incense making, including the usage of related tools and ingredients, while making their own mosquito repellent sachets. Besides using woody or herbal plants, fruits can also make great ingredients for handmade incense and sachets. For this session, we have especially prepared lemons grown at HART Haus for you to formulate your unique scent and share the joy of natural regeneration!
HART and Hong Kong Archives Society proudly presents - ‘Approaches to the Archive: Three Perspectives’, a sharing session to examine different approaches to manage, use and work with archives across various sectors.
We have the pleasure to be able to invite three professionals to share their experience with us: Sjoerd Hoekstra from Design For Culture Limited, Angharad McCarrick from M+ Museum, and Jenny Yu from HSBC Archives. Spanning from the creative and design sector, to art and cultural institutions, as well as international commercial and financial companies, how are the designs, functionalities and maintenance of their archives different? Why do we need these archives, and how can this bring insights to the management of data and records in our daily lives?
