HART Haus, established in 2018, is a HART Studio works with over 30 artists annually through providing artists with a platform to create, experiment, and exhibit their projects.

About HART Haus 
Our social studio, a two-floor artspace located at Cheung Hing Industrial Building, Kennedy Town with total of over 12,000 square feet space. The space is equipped with a ground floor project space, multi-purposes exhibition and public programme spaces, communal areas, and most importantly, shared and independent artist studios. With HART’s incubation and synergy happening in this industrial building, we worked with around 30 Asian and emerging artists-in-residence each year. HART values hands-on making, collaboration, and knowledge sharing to pave for a stronger and more sustainable local arts and cultural ecosystem in Hong Kong. Social Studio is the arts and creative incubator program at HART Haus, a space and platform for Hong Kong talents to create, experiment, and evolve their art practices in a social setting. Hong Kong-based artists are invited to join through our ‘open’ call, and are provided with studio space, resources for collaboration, and opportunities to integrate their practice with the larger community. We curate regular Showcase and Open Studio to provide a unique experience to present new works of art within their place of creation for the public, celebrating diversity, and quality of works.

About the role
We are looking for a Studio Manager (or Studio Assistant for less experienced candidate) to take on the role from daily operations at HART Haus to contributing to the growth of HART as a not-for-profit art initiative in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities include:

HART Haus

  • Managing the artists-in-residence membership, oversees daily usage and maintain a healthy community around house rules

  • Create a welcoming and collaborative environment among members and visitors through customer service and relationship building

  • Manage studio and facility tidiness, regular check-in and update on issues, inventory, maintenance, and condition statuses of studio inventory

  • Overseeing and executing daily studio operations

  • Managing logistical operations and usage of spaces, library, and studio storage(s), ensure a tidy and presentable studio at all times

HART programmes

  • Assist team and/or members from public programme planning, execution, to event and/or classes setup at studio

  • On duty for the events happening or plan ahead to arrange a schedule with team

Research, Marketing Promotions, and Administration

  • Assist team to maintain company’s social media platforms and website

  • Assist team on administrative tasks, and communications with Henderson team when applicable

  • Leading interns and instruct part-time helpers or docents occasionally who will be based at HART Haus

Requirements:

  • Work experience in art or cultural industry, event/exhibition management, community leadership or business operations. Passionate in the arts, culture, and creative fields is a bonus.

  • Be able to communicate in English and Cantonese, and excellent writing skills for either English or Chinese (preferred).

  • Self-motivated and independent, attention to details, a quick-responder.

  • Be proactive to regularly check-in with members and able to raise any issues for discussion with HART team and tackle them with possible solutions.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and able to multi-task under a fast-paced environment

  • Strong soft and interpersonal skills, cheerful, and approachable

  • Good files documentation awareness for company’s archive purposes

  • Experience of office management systems and procedures such as proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Apple OS devices. 

  • Knowledge in Adobe Creative Software and other creative applications are a bonus.

  • Knowledge in photography or videography documentation is a bonus.
