The Opening Reception of HART Social Studio Showcase “Six Happenings” will be accompanied by “The Uncanny HAUS”, three performances by HART artists Natasha Cheung and Liao Jiaming, with US and Hong Kong-based artist Anlan Huang. The three artists use the heterogenous medium of performance in conjunction with lens based media to explore the theory of the uncanny valley, a model in aesthetics that suggests that objects that imperfectly resemble human likeness provoke a sense of unease or uncanniness to the viewer. Through digital and physical augmentation, AI distortion, and humorous personification, the artists invite the audience to consider how our identities are constructed through history, culture and it’s technologies.
匯舍聯展「六序」開幕禮中，HART匯舍藝術家張穎曦和廖家明，以及駐美國和香港的藝術家黃安瀾將特別演出三段表演「不可思議之HAUS」。三位藝術家將使用同質的表演媒介，以及鏡頭相關的媒介探索恐怖谷理論。這個美學理論指出物件倘若相似人類而稍有偏差，將帶來不安和恐懼的觀感。透過數碼和物理的加成、人工智能的失真，和灰諧的擬人手法，藝術家邀請觀眾反思歷史、文化和科技如何建構我們的身份。
