HART Haus and Art in Place are excited to announce a new “HART to Heart” campaign, an art initiative designed to breathe new life into Kennedy Town by connecting its residents and artists through creative placemaking. This collaboration aims to redefine neighbourhood identity, spark meaningful conversations, and foster a stronger sense of community.
The “HART to Heart” campaign brings together four interdisciplinary and emerging groups of artists to celebrate Kennedy Town’s unique character – DD Yung + Yasmina Viale-Fraine, Doris Ng + Sharu B. Sikdar, Elsa Ngai + Estelle Chan, and Zaat Hap Laa (Mimmy Tjia, Jeffrey Hung, Oscar Lau, and Emily Chan). Through a series of interactive public programmes including performances, walking tours, and workshops curated by the artists throughout April till late May, the community from the neighborhood or other kinds of cross-platforms audiences will have the opportunity to actively participate in the creative process, forging connections with neighbours they might not otherwise meet. From concept to completion, this initiative promises to weave craftsmanship, recyclable resources, painting with contemporary art-making approaches into the fabric of the neighbourhood, sparking dialogue and strengthening community bonds.
The campaign is expected to offer a fresh perspective on how art can bring people together. This April and May, residents and visitors alike are invited to join this creative journey and experience Kennedy Town through a shared neighbourhood identity.
Artists are all working based in HART Haus studio, and will be present at the Opening Reception.
HART Haus 和 Art in Place 聯手推出一項新的藝術計劃「心藝系與堅尼地城」,旨在透過藝術家以創意社區營造與堅尼地城居民聯繫去注入新活力。這次合作旨在重塑社區認同,啟發有意義的交流,並促進更強烈的社區意識。
「心藝系與堅尼地城」 活動匯集四組跨媒介的新晉藝術家,共同頌揚堅尼地城的獨特面貌,組合包括 翁DD 與 梣茉莉、吳玳誼 與 Sharu B. Sikdar、 魏舍椏 與 陳郁子以及 藝術團體紮合啦(成員:謝旻蒑、洪梓維、劉浩然、陳瑋瑤)。一系列藝術家策劃公眾互動藝術工作坊,將於四月至五月下旬發生,當中包括表演、徒步導覽和工作坊。來自社區或其他跨平台的觀眾將會參與創作過程,與他們原本或不會相遇的鄰居建立聯繫。從概念直至完成,計劃貫徹採用當代藝術創作方法將手工藝及可回收資源融入社區,激發對話並加強社區聯繫。
此次計劃將為藝術如何凝聚大衆提供一個新的視角。我們誠邀居民和遊客於今年四至五月加入這場創意之旅,以共同的社鄰身分體驗堅尼地城。
所有藝術家將在 HART Haus 工作室創作及出席開幕典禮。

Group 1 “KT Meows Chitchat”

DD Yung 翁DD (b. Hong Kong 生於香港, ig: @the_dd_only)
DD, affectionately known as the "cat lady," graduated with a B.F.A. in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019 and earned her Master’s in Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2023. Her creative process is infused with playful techniques, reflecting her love for cats. Through lines connecting various shapes, DD explores the interrelationships between people and nature, which she views as fundamental to art.
Using different mediums, she offers audiences a captivating visual experience. DD has exhibited her work at venues such as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Cookhouse Gallery in the UK. "Beautiful things need not be perfect; they can be unique," she asserts, emphasizing that the act of creation is more important than the result. Now based in Hong Kong, DD invites viewers into her imaginative landscapes, celebrating the beauty of imperfection.
DD,俗稱“貓小姐”,將她的童趣靈魂和對藝術的熱愛融入生動的畫作和鉤織創作。她堅信「無趣的藝術家無法創造出精彩的作品」,強調好奇心和樂觀對創造力的重要性。她的作品透過複雜的線條和形狀探索人類與自然的聯繫,特別注重顏色和筆觸。對於 DD 來說,美麗在於獨特,她重視創作的過程而非最終結果,邀請觀眾欣賞藝術表達的旅程。
Yasmina Viale-Fraine 梣茉莉 (French 法籍, ig: @atelier.yvf)
atelierYVF is a textile art collective formed by Yasmina Viale-Fraine, a fashion designer and award-winning embroidery artist and Alexandre Viale-Berthélier, a scientist and digital creator. The juxtaposition of contrasting elements is at the heart creative inspiration. City and nature, East-meets-West, delicateness in passion, modernised traditions, boldness in scarcity, sustainable disruption are recurrent themes explored by the duo.
Their work has been exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong, Omni Gallery London, Harrogate Knitting & Stitching Show (UK), and HART Haus (HK). atelierYVF's couture collections have been walking the runways at Hong Kong Fashion Week every year since 2022, and featured in Hashtag Legend, Vogue and Madame Figaro.
atelierYVF 是一個紡織藝術企業,由時裝設計師兼獲獎刺繡藝術家梣茉莉(Yasmina Viale-Fraine)和科學家兼數位創作者 Alexandre Viale-Berthélier 組成。他們喜歡以對比元素為創作靈感;城市與自然、東西方融合、激情的細膩、現代的傳統、稀缺的大膽、可持續的破壞都是兩人反覆探討的主題。

Group 2 “Little Egrets: A Journey of Hope”

Doris Ng 吳玳誼 (b. Hong Kong 生於香港, ig: @toi.yee)
Doris Toi Yee Ng, recipient of the 2024 Colours of Humanity Award and the 2023 1a Space Award, is a cross-disciplinary artist who explores the intersection of identities and material spatiality through the lens of crip theory. Utilizing tactile materials and repurposed objects, she creates evocative installations and engages in collective making as a means of embodying belonging while seeking an innocent space. Ng holds a BFA from RMIT University and Hong Kong Art School, as well as an MA from Central Saint Martins. Her works and performances have been showcased at notable venues, including Tomorrow Maybe at Eaton Hotel, Goethe Gallery, 3812 Gallery, Hong Kong Art Centre, and Art Central 2024. Her work is part of the collection at Henderson Land.
吳玳誼是2024年Colours of Humanity 大獎得獎者及1a 空間獎2023得獎主吳玳誼是一位跨媒介藝術家,她透過夬兒理論的視角探索身份與物質空間的交匯。她利用觸感材料和再利用的物品,創作出令人深思的藝術裝置,並鼓勵以集體創作來體現歸屬感,同時尋求一個純真的空間。吳氏擁有中央聖馬丁學院碩士學位和皇家墨爾本理工大學學士學位。她的作品和表演曾廣泛展出,包括逸東酒店的 “Tomorrow Maybe”、歌德藝廊、3812 畫廊、香港藝術中心和Art Central 2024。她的作品被收藏於恆基兆業地產藏品中。
Sharu B. Sikdar (b. Hong Kong 生於香港, ig: @sharu_sikdar)
Sharu Binnong Sikdar (b. 1994) is a Hong Kong-born Indian Filipino artist. Her artistic practice is characterized by repetition and labor-intensive processes, as she collects, assembles, and reconstructs found objects. Sikdar primarily utilizes natural materials such as leaves, barks, branches, and even her own hair. Through her work, Sikdar explores the relationships between the body and nature, personal growth, and the ephemeral nature of beings.
Sikdar graduated with a B.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Hong Kong. Since then, she has exhibited her work in both solo and group exhibitions, galleries and public installations, showcasing her unique approach to art-making.
Sikdar has also been actively involved in collaborations with different artists on art and cultural community-based projects. Organizing art workshops that create inclusive and participatory art experiences that encourage and empower individuals to tap into their own creativity and use art as a tool for self-discovery and communication.
Sharu Binnong Sikdar 是一位 1994 年生於香港、屬印度及菲律賓藉的藝術家,她於2017年畢業於香港薩凡納藝術設計學院。Sikdar 收集、組裝、解構及重組現成物,她的創作富重覆性及勞動密集性,並常運用天然物料如樹枝、樹皮並樹葉。Sikdar 自創作以來都以利用自身髮絲作為創作媒介,藉以發掘身體與自然、個人成長與轉瞬的關係。
Sikdar於2017年畢業於香港薩凡納藝術設計學院。她的作品展出在個人展和聯展、畫廊和公共裝置,展示她獨特的藝術創作方式。
Sikdar 積極與不同的藝術家合作藝術和文化社區計劃。組織藝術工作坊,創作高包容和參與性的藝術體驗,鼓勵挖掘個人創造力,利用藝術作為自我尋找和交流的工具。
Group 3 “Stroll at Kennedy Town: From Texture to Culture”

Elsa Ngai (b. Hong Kong 生於香港, ig: @elsa.sn_art)
Elsa Ngai graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in 2024. She visited Beijing Fine Arts Academy and Tsinghua University for Chinese painting advanced studies. As a HART Award recipient in 2024, Ngai will conclude her 9-month residency at HART Haus. Her graduation work explores the boundary between reality and illusion through the reconfiguration of memory images, constructing an unsettling psychological world beneath a calm exterior. Her works often involve stacking and polishing mineral pigments to blur the sense of time, using intuition and sketches to express the aura of objects. She has been awarded the Friends of the Art Museum Prize, the Madam Jan Yun-bor Memorial Award for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, and the Professor Raymond Fung Chinese Painting Award.
魏舍椏於2024年獲得香港中文大學藝術學士學位,曾於北京畫院及清華大學進修中國繪畫。作為 2024 年 HART 大獎得主,魏氏將在 HART Haus 完成為期 9 個月的駐留。她的畢業作品通過回憶意像的重組,探索真與幻之間的界限,建構平靜表象下不安的心理世界。她的作品常以礦物顏料堆疊與打磨,模糊作品的時間性,並運用直覺和寫生線條表現事物的靈光。她曾獲文物館館友會獎金、詹雲白夫人紀念中國書畫獎、馮國經教授中國畫獎。
Estelle Chan (b. Hong Kong 生於香港, ig: @estelle___chan)
Estelle Chan graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2024 with a Fashion and Textile Design degree. Her graduate work focuses on integrating three-dimensional art and 3D printing, exploring themes of semiotics and their connection to society. Estelle's innovative designs have been showcased in runway shows, recognized by VOGUE magazine, and featured in collaborations with numerous artists, reflecting her unique vision and creative approach.
陳氏於 2024 年獲得香港理工大學服裝及紡織品設計文學碩士學位。她的畢業作品專注於融合三維立體藝術和 3D 列印,探索符號與社會的聯繫。 Estelle 的創新設計曾在時裝秀上展出,獲得VOGUE雜誌的認可,並與不同藝術家合作,展現她獨特的視野和具創意的創作方式。

Zaat Hap Laa 紮合啦 (ig: @zaat_hap_laa)
Zaat Hap Laa is an art collective exploring bamboo crafting through a series of workshops with communities, impart knowledge, and cultivating the next generation of talented individuals with artistic abilities in 'hands, eyes, and heart' for creative expression.
Mimmy Tjia, co-founder of Zaathaplaa and a Fine Arts graduate from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She focuses on conceptual and experimental works, painting, and drawing that explore humanity through Construction and Deconstruction. Her recent enthusiasm for craftsmanship drives her to commit to community art educational projects, exploring innovative ideas in traditional materials.
Oscar Lau, co-founder of Zaathaplaa and a graduate in Social Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His enthusiasm for community engagement drives him to research and address social issues. Since his time at university, he has created various projects aimed at tackling these challenges. He is now dedicated to promoting societal change through art and social service efforts.
Jeffrey Hung, a communication designer and co-founder of Zaathaplaa, graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Design, specializing in branding, art direction, and editorial design. Despite his focus on contemporary design, his unwavering love for traditional customs and community projects shines through in his art and involvement in art education.
Emily Chan is a researcher and co-founder of Zaathaplaa. As a graduate in Urban Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she delves into the intricate relationship between urban environments and human creativity. Her passion for craftsmanship and art fuels her exploration of social interactions in public spaces, emphasizing the transformative power of artistic practice in shaping shared experiences.
「紮合啦」旨在讓都市人重新與大自然連結,透過紮作藝術在城市草地上建立社群聯繫,傳授知識並培養下一代具備「手、眼、心」藝術創作能力的人才,同時一同探索草地的無限可能性!
共同創辦人謝旻蒑於2023年獲得香港中文大學藝術、策展及藝術策略學士學位,並於同年榮獲HART大獎。其畢業作品探討人類與自然法則共存的想法,並想像有意的二元對立最終如何會達致統一。在其藝術實踐中,她著重於概念性和實驗性的繪畫和混合媒介,通過建構和解構生活和物料的過程中探索存在概念和人性的脆弱性。
共同創辦人劉浩然獲得香港理工大學社會創新設計學位。從大學期間至今,他熱衷於社區參與促使其研究和梳理社會問題,並創作不同計劃以應對這些挑戰。他現在致力於透過推廣藝術及社會服務以推動社會變革。
洪梓維作為共同創辦人及傳媒設計師,獲得香港理工大學設計學院學位,主修品牌、藝術指導及編輯設計。儘管他專注於當代設計,他對傳統習俗和社區項目的熱愛毫不動搖,這種熱忱在他的藝術創作和藝術教育參與中表露無遺。
陳瑋瑤是「紮合啦」研究員和聯合創辦人之一。獲得香港中文大學城市研究學位,她深入探究城市環境與人類創意之間錯綜複雜的關係。她對工藝品和藝術的熱情延展她對公共空間中社會互動的探索,強調了藝術實踐在塑造共同體驗方面的變革力量。
