HART x HKOP | Workshop : A Brief Encounter with Cyanotype

Cyanotype is one of the more commonly known Alternative Photographic Processes which produces lovely Prussian Blue images. It was invented in an exciting era of the 19th century, not long after photography was discovered – by the British scientist John Herschel. It was popular for a few decades until more capable processes took over.

The technique, together with a whole range of historic processes, are having a revival in the recent years just like so many of the craft or art media that celebrates human touches.

The workshop briefly introduced the process from historical and cultural contexts, taking participants onto an interesting journey into the wonderful world of this alternative process through creating Cyanotype images.
